Most survival horror games make you earn the fun. Requiem skips that entirely. You’re dropped into a compelling situation from the opening minutes, and the game never lets up from there.
What’s impressive is how well it balances two things that usually fight each other: genuine horror atmosphere and satisfying action combat. You’ll get real jump scares and dread-soaked environments, but the gunplay feels tight and responsive. You’re never fumbling with the controls when something terrifying shows up. That’s harder to pull off than it sounds.
Every mechanic feels deliberate. Inventory management has weight to it. Gunfights have consequence. When you clear a tough encounter, it actually feels earned, not just lucky.
Honestly, no. Requiem is one of those rare games with no obvious weak points. It doesn’t overstay its welcome, it doesn’t bury you in backtracking, and it doesn’t lock meaningful progress behind obscure puzzles. It just keeps moving.
